Regalé mis ojos (I gave away my eyes)
“Written during my Australian tour in mid-November (2019), it went viral after I released a home-made video of the song, reaching over a million plays within the first month on all social media platforms.
The song is dedicated to Gustavo Gatica, a 21 year old psychology student who was permanently blinded after receiving shots on both eyes during a peaceful protest in downtown Santiago. That evening, at the hospital, he said to his mother "I gave away my eyes so that the people can wake up" which is the chorus of the song. "Regalé mis ojos para que la gente despierte".
The studio recording and video was released on March 6th, and to mark the occasion we will perform at Plaza de la Dignidad, the epicenter of protests in the country and also the very spot where Gustavo was shot.
