It also serves to honour significant contributions and achievements by Canadians. The Chancellery of Honours, as part of the Office of the Secretary to the Governor General, administers the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal program.

Mr. Campbell, is a virtuoso of the clarinet who has won international praise as a soloist and chamber player, will be awarded the Queen's Jubilee Medal by The Govenor General of Canada.

A Member of the Order of Canada,  Mr. Campbell's interpretations of classical works for clarinet are flawless, rich and technically superb. He has also succeeded remarkably as a crossover classical-jazz musician. In addition to a busy career teaching, recording and performing, he is Artistic Director of the Festival of the Sound, bringing Canadian and international musicians together each summer in an exciting program of concerts and workshops in Parry Sound, Ontario.
